The Central Asian country of Kazakhstan, or officially the Republic of Kazakhstan, is a land with vast mineral (financial) resouarces and unparallel beauty. An equivalent in size to western Europe, being the ninth largest country on the planet. Furthermore, it is one of only two wholly landlocked countries in the world, the other being Azerbaijan. Birding in Kazakhstan is especially good during spring and autumn migration, where reserves such as Korgalzhyn State Nature Reserve, Taukum Desert, and Aksu-Zhabaghly are the best places to go birding.
