Bonny Valkenburg-Kubentayeva is the director of LTD Rubythroat Birding Tours and the wife of Machiel. She was born and raised in the region of East Kazakhstan in the small city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, near the gorgeous Altai Mountains.

During her university years, she lived in Almaty, where she studied finance and graduated summa cum laude as a financial analyst. She continued working in the banking sector until joining Rubythroat Birding Tours in 2012.

Bonny is very keen on interacting with people and learning about different cultures as well as foreign languages.

Nowadays, she fluently speaks several languages that she mastered on her own. Being extremely outgoing by nature, she never fails to gain new friends wherever she goes.

An authentic social butterfly! She has the role of the company’s accountant where she keeps an eye on financial matters and takes care of the organizational sides of many tours while also, having a very active social life. In her free time, she loves reading, travelling and hiking in nature with friends.
