He has over 20 years of experience and pursued a career as a naturalist as well as an ornithologist which makes him one of the best guides in India. He likes to expand his knowledge persistently. As a result of his exploration, he successfully began his career in 2018 as a leader in Kazakhstan. Along with his impeccable professionalism, Harish has a friendly, courteous, understanding and warm-hearted personality and a subtle feeling for his guest’s wishes and needs.
1. How did you become interested in birding?
My grandfather was a forest ranger in Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur, India. At the age of 8, I began accompanying him to this famous bird sanctuary and National Park, where I learned so much about the natural world. In 1996, I spent a year with the Bombay Natural History Society, studying the flora and fauna of the National Park. My dedication and passion were recognized when I was awarded a certificate by the Rajasthan Forest Department in 2000, allowing me to work as a freelance naturalist. Since then, I have been regularly working and leading wildlife trips across India.
Five years later, I rebranded the company as Rubythroat Birding Tours, reflecting my desire to expand beyond Central Asia. Now, nearly 20 years later, my passion for birding and exploration remains as strong as ever.
